I understand completely where Pots is coming from. I don't have the same taste necessarily though, as I love Chino's vocals and don't mind at all that everything he does is like Deftones.
But they haven't gotten out of their comfort zone. They do mild dips into stuff that's 'different' for them. But they're only baby steps. They have a formula and they stick to it. They're not that much different than a band like Chevelle. And it's bizarre that they have album ratings as high as they do on here when they should probably be closer to Chevelle's album ratings.

Same here. But the entire reason for that, for me... Is that I love Chino's vocals.
Chevelle has essentially the same amount of actual talent. Possibly even moreso. Their bass playing > Deftones bass playing.
But they both stick to formulaic shit. They nailed it with Change and Send the Pain Below and each album is them trying to capture the glory days of when their songs were played on the radio all the time.
