Agreed. This sounds even more goddamn awful than purple already did. And that says something. No idea what's going on in their heads when they decided to work with the same producer again, but stopped caring about this band after blue anyway

I think if baroness would do a live show around me all would be forgiven

*SPOILER* some great songs, with some unpalatable production, but definitely looking forward to catching them on tour this summer

Nevermind I just finished listening to it. Definitely the most experimental thing they've ever done but the sound quality absolutely destroys it.

Keep wanting to drop my rating and then remembering how great the Iron Bell is

The Iron bell is probably my least favorite track here honestly, it's great and all but something about it just isn't as satisfying on a gut level to me. That solo is fkn sweet though.

It’s on Spotify and the production is weird imo but it’s not bad

Never tried these guys before, but I'm enjoying this. New one seems divisive
|
| |
new one is definitely better than this but they are both great records that sound like shit
|
| |
Ill definitely check it then

hadn't heard this but picked it up on vinyl today. this thing's a banger.

Really like this and Blue, though I wish this ended stronger than it does.
Red was disappointing for me a lot. Some good ideas there but it doesnt sound like an album really. Just jam sessions i guess.

That's kinda what I like about red though, it's loose and free-flowing in a way their later stuff isn't
|
| |
Definitely love Rays On Pinion though, the intro is a lot of fun to play on guitar.
Yeah Red's got good bits, but I can tell the band didn't really know how to make an album, and it shows painfully. The difference in that from Blue is pretty huge.
Still need to check Yellow and Green, and Silver and Gold again. I'm sure there's a great album in the latter buried somewhere in the mix haha.

I simp for Yellow & Green hardcore lol, a lot of people dislike it for being less "metal" or for being too long but I think its legit some of the best rock songwriting of all time

i love every baroness record including that one
