Yuppers.

From the man himself via faceb0k: Next up, with the announcement of our appearances at ROADBURN in 2018 comes the announcement of the new double album, " The Scars of Man on the Once Nameless Wilderness". I worked on this album for about 2 years , starting shortly after the completion of "Autumn Eternal" in April of 2015. It is a double album, 2 hours of music, lyrically and aesthetically following a concept, also dividing up the stylistic elements of Panopticon into 2 distinct albums that express opposite sides of the same idea. More on that at a later date...

This album is probably the most conflicting 4.5 one can have because it just might be a 5.

It just.

Might.

Yeah he's my fav bm drummer tbh. Drumming on the s/t is the best I've ever heard on a bm album.

Same. Most BM drumming for me is very straightforward and repetitive. That usually works pretty well for the genre, but I love how Lunn just injects so much life into it with those daring fills.

I love how Lunn always goes for a natural drum sound too. It doesn't sound overly triggered or plastic. There's no beat correction, no bs, and the looseness of it sounds great to me.

Eh his looseness bothers me, actually. Sometimes he feels kinda sloppy and it makes the rhythms feel weird. Dude knows how to play fills for days, tho. And his style definitely has its own unique personality.

Sometimes it sounds like he lands a little after the 1, or falls off the grid a little with his ruffs, but it feels so much more honest and fun to me when it's like that. Sounds like he's channeling raw emotion with the instrument and doesn't really gaf.

Agreed that it can feel a bit sloppy at times but that doesn't take away from how awesome it is at all for me tbh.

On the contrary, this is definitely the most well-constructed album they've made and everything flows like a slow moving stream of water into one another. Especially considering how bombastically it starts and how slow and bittersweet it ends.
