Particularly like the production. The sound is almost like live with really great atmosphere. Often studio albums can sound dry and quite dead....but not this.

EPs are albums. An album is just a collection of songs.
this is true but i think for the purposes of informal discussion, when someone says "album" they're probably talking about a studio album or live album or compilation album etc. (but usually when someone says "album" they're talking about a studio album)
furthermore when someone says "full-length" they're probably talkin about studio albums and not any other record that is also technically "full-length"
