Elephant, just to be clear here, I'm a big fan of these guys. This release just didn't do anything for me at all

I thought it was pretty good. I haven't listened to it again in quite awhile.

This album is mind-blowingly fantastic. A trillion times better than anything they've ever released. I don't know how I missed this one.

Still not sure why everyone hates this album so much. It's not amazing, but it's also not bad.

I wouldn't say everyone hates this, 3.6 is still a pretty good average.

I mean, their vocalist finally figured out how to make his voice interesting. There is some straight up Patton-esq moments on this disc. The musicality is spot on and not just riffs plopped on one another. I feel like this album actually breathes and isn't congested by monotone vocals and uninspired riffing.

I really enjoyed the repetition of themes and the different feel of each song. That was a problem I had with Colors. Besides the intro song I didn't feel like they captured the theme of each color very well. With this album they really captured the feeling of regressing into the inner workings of the mind. There were parts that were mysterious, parts that were bleak, and parts that were just downright weird but all of it fit within the concept. I haven't checked Alaska yet but after feeling disappointed by Colors and The Great Misdirect I haven't really had a mind to.

I've liked pretty much all their work. This is lower down the list, but I still enjoy it. Colors is probably my favorite.
