I'm more surprised that Fantano even reviewed it than that he hated it. It's just not his flavor of music. I figured he would just ignore it like he does most music he really doesn't like (see: Rick Ross).

i hate how post hardcore listeners put these shitty 90s/early 00s bands on a pedestal like they're actually quality in this sea of shitty garbage

it's a bad genre with good outlying albums and at the drive in and drive like jehu and whatever other bands you want to say aren't any different

I feel where you're coming from, but you're off base IMO. Genres do have a natural wane and ebb and a somewhat notable rise and fall. It's not that music as a whole is shit now, it's just that the majority of post hardcore is not what it once was. It's not that music as a whole isn't of quality just because of the year of our Lord. It's more that a particular genre has become more exhausted.
