I am not sure exactly how I feel about it yet, but it is a definite step up for Chevelle.

I loved it, but the debut and Sci-Fi Crimes will always be the best

@BrushedRed

Eh...Sci-fi Crimes is one of their weaker ones, in my opinion. As much as I love "Letter From a Thief", not very many of the songs on that album stand out to me. Point #1 is okay, but it sounds unpolished to me. I'm a big fan of "Mia", though.

The debut is more nostalgic I guess. Had some good moments with it. Yeah I think that Sci-Fi is underrated. It's one of the more "radio rock" a albums but they haven't released anything I didn't like.

I always say TTOT is their best lp.Every song is great and there are a couple mellow ones in there, which I like too.

Sci-Fi had 2 great songs--Sleep Apnea and Letter from a thief--the rest was average,IMO.

Heres my ranking

1-This type of thinking could do us in

2&3-Vena Sera and Wonder Whats Next(tie)

4-La Gargola

5-Hats off to the Bull

6-Sci-Fi Crimes

7-Point #1

Discuss...

Anyone think during "Jawbreaker" when the singer is repeating the name of the song that it sounds a little like the riff from "Prison Sex" from Tool?

1: This Type of Thinking (best songwriting by far)

2: Wonder What's Next

3: Vena Sera

4: Sci-Fi Crimes

5: Hats Off To the Bull (Envy and The Meddler were two of the best songs they've ever written, but almost everything else

was very meh)

6: La Gargola (Haven't fully nailed down its ranking, but the aggression seems very stilted and the moodier tracks are

mostly just dull)

7: Point #1 (Abysmal production, songs are boring from start to finish)

This could still end up being their best album in my eyes, but only listened 4 times overall. I've been admitted at the hospital for 4 days so haven't gotten to listen to music.

Thanks! I'm gonna be okay but I have a virus that attached itself to the outside of my heart. It's a complicated name but you

basically feel

like you're having a heart attack, but it doesn't stop. None of the long term effects of a heart attack tho! I'm only 23 it was so scary

lol.

Damn. I'm kinda insulted that Vena Sera is so high in everyone's lists. That one of my least favorites by them. I never didn't like it but it was monotonous as hell if taken in large doses
