It just irritated me in every way. No doubt largely because I hate this style of prog but this just seemed even more unappealing than previous stuff I've heard from this band.

idk either tbh but it sounds similar to a lot of stuff that's labelled alt-prog by some.

I think of prog rock as a movement more than a genre, this kind of stuff may be slightly progressive in nature but it isn't really when compared to a lot of other musical styles out there not labelled as prog.
