i listened to the new one for the first time on a drive through the mountains around 1 in the morning when it was raining hard enough that i couldnt see further than 15 feet in front of me and there were no street lights and no one else on the road and it was intense

some of the sounds are pretty retro/OPN-y but the way he manipulates and uses them is definitely hecker

Hecker's new album is basically him embracing Oneohtrix Point Never's textural sound and aesthetic presentation. Like climactic said, the sound may be Lopatin-esque but Tim's approach to it is definitely authentic and unique.

The new one will be a grower for me, I'm pretty sure of that. I'd rate it 4/5 at this point, but perhaps someday it'll be up there with Ravedeath and Haunt Me for me. Harmony and Virgins are my favorite Hecker records, however. I don't think he'll make anything as blissful as those two ever again, but I might be wrong, who knows.
