The ending of Getting Sodas might be my favorite moment in emo music

Following a batch of EPs & Splits, The World Is a Beautiful Place & I am No Longer Afraid to Die continue to combine emo & post-rock on their home themed debut LP 'Whenever, If Ever'. Improved production highlights the intricate & deceptively hooky musicianship, with common tempo changes & build-ups best shown on the thrilling 7 minute closer. The strained vocals (by multiple members) will be divisive, but the use of dual & gang vocals help. It's a tight 35 minutes worth - even if the many short tracks come off as interludes - where the sum is greater than the individual parts. Recommended Tracks: Getting Sodas, Heartbeat in the Brain, Picture of a Tree... & Ultimate Steve.

I really like Fightboat, but I wish it had a little more punch. The synths are nice, though.
