I wouldn't consider this wank.

Wank tends to be really simplistic harmonically with no melodies. Like playing a bunch of scales ascending/descending, constant sweep picking/arpeggios, and really basic phrasing. Like kids you see in Guitar Center that try to show of their "skills."

Scale the Summit tends to stay away from wankery even though they're instrumental.





I agree with Mike, The Collective had a stronger impact on me and is much more memorable.

The thing is sometime something that's easy on the ears can actually be pretty complex. Complexity isn't all about speed or how hard something is to play the composing side is a big part of it too.
