Agreed. They're way too compressed, and suck the life out of the dynamics. They're also too samey throughout, with an overuse of the harmony vocals.

Exactly, all that you said basically explains why I wasn't so big on any of the two that came out, though they're still both enjoyable. I guess listening again wouldn't hurt, see if it grows on me a bit, DuVall is a great singer though.

Alice in Chains on Christmas morning? Sure why not! Lovely band, really. Wore the hell out of this cassette in my shitty monte carlo back in the day.. memories...Sea Of Sorrow, We Die Young, Man In The Box, and Bleed The Freak..absolutely awesome.
