Morrowind is where it's at.



I strongly believe that it is is the best Elder Scrolls, by far. I do enjoy Oblivion and Skyrim but Morrowind is another level.

theres a mod called REQUIEM that descales the world, makes it more like baldurs gate 1 or morrowind, where at early levels a troll or vampire will buttfuck you no questions asked, and if you combine that with a permadeth mod, the game becomes pretty fun. but yeah the whole why tf am i wasting my life playing this video game thing still sits there in the back of your mind shaming you

Skyirm is not a hardcore, tense, shit-yourself, survival orientated affair. It's about doing what the hell you like with your character build and having virtually no consequences. Explore, take in the environment, customise etc. I mean yeah a little more 'balance' in some combat / scaling aspects may be preferable, but that idea sounds awful tbh. Why would I want to spend all that time 'growing' my character and then potentially have it ruined in seconds?

permadeth in games tends to make everything a hell of a lot more exciting. seeing a troll across a field goes from oh hey a troll to OH FUCK A TROLL RUN

feel kind of bad that I got so far in my Arena playthrough and didn't beat it, but just installed and started a Daggerfall run the other day and got all the... *crickets* *crickets* o yeah who am I kidding

on reflection I wish I'd been aware of Morrowind back in the day. I only discovered the series after Skyrim dropped (and then went back to Oblivion, which felt admittedly dated). A remake would be sweet
