you wouldn't have to defend your rating if you atleast mentioned something positive in your review, which could have been the smallest thing. your electronic music elitism is well known and shines right through this review

This is one of the stupider posts I've seen in this thread so far. Perhaps my rating is so low and I fail to mention anything positive about this album because I see no positives about this. And as for my musical elitism, I fail to see how that would matter unless I absolutely hated everything "brostep" or "heavy dubstep" related - which is far from the case

This part is true any way you look at it. And that's what gives so many people (it's obviously not just a couple of people here and there) the impression that you had your mind made up before listening to the album, didn't "give it a chance" and wrote this rant simply to rant about how much you hate the idea of this existing. That's how it matters.

The style of writing you chose to use just amplified everything to the max.

Funnily enough at the end of the day, if people want to make up their mind over the fact that I apparently made up my mind about this album prior to hearing it then good for them, I won't be losing any sleep over it. Bunch of butthurt kids looking for anyway to try and justify why I don't like this. Good work chaps

no, deviant. there's nothing more stupid than writing "stupider"

most of us agree with your sentiment about korn's intentions about writing this album (or not writing?). it's your bias analysis of the music itself that we're uncomfortable with, especially coming from a professional staff member such as yourself

There was no bias, sorry champ. I thought this would be a bad idea, heard 2 songs that didn't change my mind, but still went into this with an open mind, hoping to be surprised

It appears the only one with bias would be you

And it's a review, they are inherently biased due to Deviant being (as far as we know he's not made of wubs yet) a person - we, the users, WANT him to have an opinion otherwise this entire site is pointless and entirely left to trolls.

I'm not sure you understand what a review actually is. If you wanted the usual bullshit 'this is the best/heaviest/most groundbreaking album we've ever written' spiel, why not just read the press release, buy the album and jerk off a little bit? Some of you guys need to engage your brains once in a while.

I'll admit, I like Brostep or Jockstep or whatever you want to call it but I have an appreciation for ALL Dubstep. I really don't fit the stereotype for the average Brostep fan (I'm nearly 40, I don't like sports...)

But this Korn album is bad. The lyrics are bad. The songs all sound the same. Jonathons voice is awful. It sounds cut n' paste. I have to agree with Dev's rating.

Now, an album that mixes guitar and Dubstep that I do like is the new Asking Alexandria "Stepped Up And Scratched". I'm a sucker for the crunching guitar, the screaming, the clean vocals, and the wub. Let the snide comments and laughter begin!

i'm not defending this album, and i never said i liked. i was just thinking to myself like only some it appears, "and what else?" after reading the second half of the review which is nothing short of a self-indulgent rant.

but w/e, next time i'll just save you trouble and hop on the band-wagon of bashing the album itself, rather then question your reasoning behind the review
