I'm quite amazed to say it myself but this just might be my favourite Mastodon album.

I can't wait to listen to this, I also can't believe I haven't listened to it yet. Mastodon is one of the few metal bands I consistently enjoy.

Not quite a letdown, not quite a success

Nowhere near as consistent as Leviathan or Blood Mountain but better than Crack the Skye.

Ok its more of a letdown, like half of this stuff sounds like filler, enthusiastic and energetic, but filler none the less.

I'm all for natural progression but songs with singalong 'wooooaah' chants don't sound all that natural here.

That said, Blasteroid is mindblowing. That and the Hunter are prime Mastodon cuts.

I still love you guys, redeem yourselves with a bootleg release of the REAL unedited Jonah Hex score those corporate fat cats shat on.

This one was a hell of a lot catchier than their other stuff. I always hated their sloppy, "thrown together" kind of sound.

Iv always dug their sound, and this is certainly one of their coolest releases. But whats up with Creature Lives? Drugs, thats what. Very drug-induced sounding song.

Generally when I can appreciate one album an artist puts out it helps ease me into their other stuff.

Wasn't Crack the Skye written when Brent Hinds got high off of a brain hemorrhage from being punched

in the face?

Anyone else think The Hunter's solo sounds a bit too much like Oblivion's solo?

That song is great. This is really close to a 4.5 for me right now.

Amazing album. Curl of the Burl, Blasteroid, and The Sparrow are my personal highlights.

Are you kidding me that track rules and it's an awesome album closer. I don't really consider it a bonus track.

I like how you can find signs of all of their previous albums on here. Except for, perhaps, Remission.
