"the biblical references on this album are off the charts"
I read the lyrics to Words In the Water, and I was like, holy shit, I could bring this up as an option to play in my youth group band and it might actually be considered.

wut
"anarchist is a bit ridiculous. slipknot and bring me the horizon are 5'd by him. I don't take anything he says seriously anymore"
tbh they're things I listened to when I was 14 or so, so the 5s kinda carried over from then. I probably wouldn't like them anywhere near as much if I heard them for the first time now and music tastes change.
wait why am I trying to defend myself against you
you're pretty stupid if you just blanket ignore someone cos you don't agree with one other thing they do

Acoustic version of yellow belly. The beginning sounds so haunting acoustically.
"the biblical references on this album are off the charts" Wel they aren't to apparent (Except maybe words in the water) to someone who ain't a believer, which is a good thing in my mind. I'm only slight annoyed with the comments Dustin made in the liner notes about a naturalistic worldview and the implications of it which I disagree with. The song is still pretty awesome though.

At first I was like "yeah, this is neat".
Now it's just another thrice album that I occasionally listen to a few songs from.

I still need to listen to this. I'm behind on my Thrice though, I haven't even listened to Beggars yet. I find that I have to listen to their albums multiple times - it took me a few listens to fully appreciate Vheissu.

After a few spins in the car, this record has grown on me considerably. I still much prefer Beggars, and that's unlikely to change, but this is a great counterpart. Major/Minor is a creeper; it took me at least ten full listens to begin to appreciate it. Thanks for keeping me on my toes and calling me on my bullshit. That's some tough love, and that's why I enter into these fracases in the first place.
"So call it... INNNNNNN THEEEEEE AIIIIRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!"

sputnikers are funny. if someone doesn't like a piece of music, it's that person's fault, not the musician's.

Anarchist, I think "Call It In The Air," "Words In The Water," "Treading Paper," and "Disarmed" are the best tracks on here, followed by "Yellow Belly," "Promises," "Anthology" and "Listen Through Me."

I think I've logged 20 playthroughs of this already. I need to stop. Think this is passing TDH's Color Spectrum for AOTY in my book.

Speaking of albums of the year, why have none of you listened to Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks' Mirror Traffic? It is definitely in my top 3 for 2011, and if you like Pavement at all, you should do yourself a favor and listen. I'm admittedly a bit of a Malkmus/Pavement fanboy, but I think a majority of you guys would really enjoy it.
