"Hutchison disappeared on 9 May 2018, and his body was found the following day on the banks of the Firth of Forth."

The Ben Gibbard cover of Keep Yourself Warm is the best yet from this new comp. Retains the ethos of the original, changes it up the right amount, doesn't try to over-compensate.

Yeah really eerie. He called it nearly 10 years ago.

I haven’t listened to the covers album, but I absolutely love Manchester Orchestra’s cover of My Backwards Walk. About to get started on their discog.

I listened to their version of My Backwards Walk, The Woodpile, I Wish I Was Sober (hard relate to this unf) — think that’s it actually. Gonna go through chronologically and don’t want to “ruin” it by taking peeks. I am considering starting at Midnight and go chronologically, then go back and listen to Greys.
I basically just listened to one of their most popular songs on Spotify because I really had no idea where to start if I’m just picking a few random tracks.

"I am considering starting at Midnight and go chronologically, then go back and listen to Greys."
good idea, TMOF is the only starting point as far as i'm concerned. i love My Backwards Walk and The Woodpile, but I Wish I Was Sober is god-tier, imo. gorgeous, gorgeous song.

Yeah man they were all fantastic. Looking forward to this. Just finishing up with The National (on Sleep Well Beast now) and then I’ll dive in. I’ll definitely chime in with my thoughts as I go through.

I will be sure to savor each album and not take it for granted (like rushing through the discog).

I’ve always had my favorite bands and that was basically all I listened to (Rock-hard Rock-alternative Rock etc). And while I had heard OF all the following bands, I had never really listened to them. So here is a list of the bands I’ve “discovered” in the past year thx to everyone here:
Thrice
Brand New
Modest Mouse
Manchester Orchestra
The Antlers
Isis
Underoath
The National
Frightened Rabbit
The Dear Hunter
I’ve ordered every album of each band on CD and have gone through everything in their discog, including EPS and B Sides. So glad I stepped out of my comfort zone. Half of the above have become some of my favorite bands now.
