well lets see here, they got rid of Vig for a reason, i hear piano, i hear synthesizers, i hear an orchestra, and the guitars are obviously overdubbed more so than on the predecessors, MC is a concept album, and the rest of the band had more freedom thus diversifying their sound even more.

you guys are obviously more passionate about this band than i am. i had a group of friends who were actually a local SP cover band where they struggled with some material on MC opposed to SD because of the arrangements, hence, the SD songs sounded better when performed live
