Album's honestly pretty sweet. Peak "You'll never understand me mom!" energy

this is so edgy, juvenile and cringe. but it's just so fun. goes together very well with the obvious nu metal influence. some of this even feels tough guy hardcore like hatebreed. so over the top that it's funny. it just knows what it is. i knew going nu metal would fit with their style but diabolus is a bit dull, this is a massive step up. this is as good as you can execute slayer going nu metal. so many sick bounce riffs and grooves. a few quality riffs thrown in, especially on disciple and payback. threshold is a blast, like slayer making a slipknot song. tom sounds perfectly pissed off.

i totally get why people would despise this. but for me it's super dumb fun and a "guilty pleasure". gonna be a great gym album for me.

Yeah this is by far my least favorite slayer. I honestly find this more boring than Diabolus since I can at least remember parts or tracks from that album.

i just have such a soft spot for stuff like this. sick grooves, dumb lyrics, edginess. a simpler time.

yeah it's comically heavy, it's almost a parody, but it does go hard

lol facts. this is probably as good as you can do a thrash band going nu metal. more so this is their take on nu metal, and i like that! lots of slayer identity still in here.

Also I don't recall them using profanity in their lyrics before this one, which just adds to that edge factor

and MAN they swear a lot on this one
