All that is true. Daron has in fact taken over, because he split up the band to do a solo project.

"Yeah, Daron's not a fantastic guitar player. But he certainly has a very original style, one that I don't think could be copied too easily."
Exactly. The band wouldn't be the same without him. I think of SOAD as like a family. it would be bad if any of them were to leave because it just wouldn't be them anymore. but switching the roles around is also a bad idea.
Drummer is Drummer, Bassist is Bassist, Guitarist/backup is Guitarist/backup, Lead is Lead, and Daron is NOT Serj. This Message Edited On 06.02.06This Message Edited On 06.02.06

well of course. Just like the band would split up is the Drummer had to do something too. What good is a band if somebody is missing. That doesn't necessarily mean he's taken over.

Well, that's sort of correct. Plenty of bands have continued on without one or more members. Queens of the Stone Age's lineup shifts around like quicksand. KoRn lost one of its guitarists. System could continue without Daron, but it wouldn't be the System that we know.

I agree Iluvatar, I was thinking about mentioning This Cocaine instead of Revenga. How could you call that song repetitive? If you like Lost In Hollywood, you can't call Revenga repetitive.

"And wtf did inuyasha even just say?"
About what?

"and also the harmonizing between Serj and Daron is fantastic."

Arent there a few bands that dont even have any original members left. I heard Napalm Death dont.

That may well be true, but I don't know anything about Napalm Death. Which only further proves my point that one member leaving doesn't necessairily doom the band.

yes, but if you remember, one of their traits is that they're all Armanian. They have a much stronger tie than just a Band, they're all fighting for the same cause. Like I said, they're like a family.

"Sure, they're cheesy, but so is half of Elton John's catalogue."
There will be no Elton John bashing.

I like this album, but I would realy love to see SOAD go back to what they had in s/t. That was stuff that I could get stoned and headbang to until I passed out. My favorites on this are Dreaming, and Soldier Slide. Holy Mountains has a cool intro, but the chorus butchers it.

SOAD have gone downhill. They were a great band. I hate how Daron does a lot of the singing, seems like he is taking the light away from Serj. The songs are not structured or composed like they used to. Sure they still have their political views, but they have no meaning like on their first or 2nd album Sigh. I remember my friend bringing over the toxicity cd, and I was instantly hooked. They got me into metal, i moved onto metallica, megadeth etc etc, but they started it. It is a shame to see such once great artists resort to this. RIP SOADThis Message Edited On 06.25.06

^^ did you get the unexplicit version? If you did, then no wonder you're pissed.

Why would that make him pissed? There's only one explicite song on here anyway (She's like Heroin).

he said he bought it at wal-art, which means it is in fact edited. I know because I scope wal-marts selection out quite often. And sometimes I actually find some decent s*it unedited ex. Black Label Society "Mafia" Or some good old Zeppelin or Pink Floyd
