no the innovative bands from that scene were Entombed, Dismember, etc. Grotesque is in that group, and there is a relation there so there's that

maybe not innovative per se, but a far more meaningful/seminal first wave swedish dm record than anything atg did

the guitar tone pretty much, but also it set the standard for most death metal swedish or otherwise that would come in the next few years



can't really find anything similar to entombed pre-entombed (other than nihilist of course)

yeah but honestly atg were in their own realm, alf was a genious and when he left the band they lost the twisted dark psychotic/psychedelic component so they plebbed out and became a simplistic melodeath band for the masses and now people who should be jammin their good stuff are overlookin em
