I liked this review, but I have to agree with chan:
'still haven't listened to this more than once but it definitely didn't hit me as hard as their last two'
It's great, sure. Good, consistent tunes. But overall it lacks Gillespie's Drumming (the new one is trying too hard + copying much) PLUS his cleans, definitely. Chamberlain's clean efforts on this record are just a few - and even there he fails poorly. He did a way better job on Lost In The Sound Of Seperation.
Overall this record is fine but lacks hits, harmony and Gillespie. Haha.
Seperation > Great Line > Disambiguation > Times > Safety > rest.

I honestly don't see why this album is being revered so...
Don't get me wrong, it's solid and very enjoyable at some parts, but it's nothing to get too excited over; it's just typical, above-average hardcore.

Underoath's best record is yet to come personally...
So far i would say '' lost in the sound of seperation '' or Ø (Disambiguation)
Now spencer is doing both screams and cleans it might take him this record to really write some amazing stuff...
But in saying that this record is amazing...

I have their albums and a lot of their songs aren't bad but I inexplicably hate this band. New album initially had my attention but after like two plays, it's gone to shelf. Something about their sound is just immature to me, and the lyrics are atrocious on this album. 'Catch Myself Catching Myself' is like a diary of lyrical cliches. Anyway.

this is starting to grow on me a bit. It's still lacking something though. I don't know what it is, just that it isn't aaron.

Lyrics are definitely disappointing on this one (though they've never been Underoath's forte). Agreed with Sowing Season up there. It's funny because they said it themselves that DTGL was the best album they'd ever be associated with.
|
| |
why everyone wants DTGL's cock is beyond me... it was good but not THAT good
|
| |
Usually I think of Underoath as generic and fan boyish but since I saw the good rating I took a leap of faith and bought the album and found it to be pretty enjoyable.

This is pretty underwhelming
