Your boy Chipper's retiring after this year
| |
yeah I heard, he's had a great career
| |
I love Chipper Jones. Anyone that stays with one team their whole entire career has my respect. That's why I used to(USED TO!!!) love Brett Favre.
| |
agreed on Favre. he's turned into such a primadonna the last few years. I love Chipper because he was just consistent as fuck, and overcame a pretty bad injury early in his career. Still, no one was more exciting to watch than a young Andruw Jones (besides maybe Bonds and Griffey early in their careers).
| |
Griffey was the most exciting all around player I've seen in my lifetime, but ya, Andruw was key back in the mid 90's to the early part of this century.
| |
yeah from like 1998-2006 Andruw Jones was the business. If he hadn't been so prone to striking out, I think we'd be talking about him as a potential top 10-15 all-time center fielder.
| |
That, and if he didn't get fat and lazy.
| |
haha true. but he did win 10 straight Gold Gloves, which is pretty damn impressive. Not to mention he's about to join the 400 HR club. If he hadn't stuck out so much, his best 10 years BA would probably be in the .300 range and he averaged about 38 HRs a year during that span. That's about as much as you could want out of your center fielder.
| |
I agree. I used to be a bit of a Braves fan until Maddux and all of them left(I was a pitcher until I dropped outta school). They were my idols and when they left, I became strictly a Marlins fan.
| |
word. obviously, growing up in Atlanta I was a Braves fan. Now I'm more of a Sox fan, but I still follow the Atlanta teams for the most part. Well, I was never too much of a Hawks fan (always rooted for the Bulls, dunno why) but I pay attention to the Falcons (Michael Turner baby, NIU pride ftw) and Braves.
