Helio and Anthro were inconsistent but far from bad. But yeah, Fluxion, Precambrian, and Pelagial are awesome.

I guess I thought the concept was really pretentious and not done well, and the musical inconsistency didn't help. I personally love Aeolion as well, right up there with Fluxion and Precambrian.

Also I had the same avatar as you on another site and it's weirding me out haha.

the new rosetta ep is pretty damn good yet people are still bitching about it even tho its clearly a comeback to their early sounds imo

Agreed. I consider it more of a metalcore record than post-metal though.

I really love the snare sound Aaron was going for with this album. It doesn't get any better than Weight it hits so hard just with that alone.

I really like weight but I guess I've never gotten why everyone has such a boner for it. I think at least carry, false light and from sinking are more effective at conveying the emotionz.

Oh Carry for sure. That one and The Beginning And The End are the most emotional songs on here for me, but Weight as a standalone piece of music has something that no other song has. One of the most powerful pieces of music I've ever heard personally. It a whole new level of catharsis.

see it's just not that intense for me. I've listened countless times in context of the album, and as a standalone track and it's a good piece of the album, but it's probably in my bottom half of my fav songs from this

It's just a tough track to describe. It's intense in a different way I often can't attach words to haha

The right-channel wind sample at 6:40 has more power than most albums.

Agreed and how about Aaron's vocals in Carry? That fucking performance is his all time highest caliber delivery like goddamn.

Idk I've just found myself favoring his vocals on that one more than any other.

I can't say that I've ever encountered audio samples on a record that last less than a minute that a better than most albums but cool!
