I'm not leaving till my curiosity and need to discuss this has subsided. People like Enotron can go elsewhere, I'm going nowhere.

Does this count as stationary stalking if I, like, stay in ONE of MJ's reviews? Kinda like hiding in one room of a person's house and watching every day. .... And interacting. I guess this isn't stalking. I'm more like that neighbor that wont leave, I guess. Can I borrow some sugar, Mike?

I love the relentlessness of your epic quest to find the meaning behind this album

Er, no, Jane Doe represents any girl that any guy has even been hurt by. It's a pretty simple concept. At the end of it all, you try to forget about the girl and therefore she becomes "nothing" so that you become numb to what she has done and can move on.

No, because you're still wrong. All emotions are "personal" for one thing. The phone call represents strain in communication, just as the broken vow represents broken promises, just as "I'll stay gold" and "I'll take my love to the grave" are the promises broken.

I've never read any Converge lyrics before; i've always seen the vocals as another instrument rather than a medium for lyrical expression. On inspection they seem like a number of 90s and early 00s metalcore bands (not familiar with recent lyrical trends) obsession with girl-trouble-induced self-pity and misogyny. I certainly fail to see any real poetic quality.

Converge is a '90s and early '00s metalcore band.. and the lyrics are amazing.

@eternium - I know they've been around since the 90s, man - the praise that Bannon gets for his lyrics just led me to believe they'd be something out of this world rather than typical of a scene. I can see how people would like them, and find them personally engaging, but technically, from what I've seen, they are very weak.

@MJ - I think I'll continue to ignore the details of Converge's lyrics and just apply my own meanings. As for reviews - I've got five months rest from academic writing so yeah, they're coming! Gonna try and put a bit more character and originality in there, too.
