I've heard Budgie, but not much sadly.

Have only heard NTYBoaF.

One of 'em, but I wouldn't say it's my Top 1.

Might make my Top 10 tho.

All opening tracks from 1970-1974 rule hard.

Yeah, first 3 Mk. II and Burn all rule mega-hard.

Along with MiJ ofc.

Strange that these guys didn't have quite the 6 album run Sabbath did.

There were many troubles between the members here, that's what happened

Yeah, I believe the disputes were mostly between Blackmore and Lord.

Asides from In Rock/MH I think Blackmore NEVER did two albums in a row with the same line up, neither in DP, Rainbow or Blackmore's Night

Well, maybe in MKI DP, can't remember if the same line up stayed for the first 3 albums tbh

They did have the same lineup from In Rock until Who Do We Think We Are and mostly the disputes were between Blackmore and Gillan. Interestingly, the person who has been Blackmore's bandmate for the longest time is his wife Candice.

Oh snap, I always forget WDwTwA... well I know I'm not the only one

I'm surprised they haven't divorced yet hehe

Interesting. And yeah, I was pretty sure that Mk. II was from In Rock to WDYTWA, although MSLG made me doubt for a sec.

I believe Blackmore personally opposed the idea of DP experimenting with funk btw. I think it was the reason why he left to form Rainbow after Stormbringer was finished.

Yeah, I think he thought it was too "commercial"... pretty ironic if we consider it was his need of fame and money what destroyed Rainbow

He was a talented as fuck guitarist, but the man had serious attitude issues.

Yeah, talent and attitude issues can go hand in hand sometimes.

He did like Hughes and Coverdale's influences but his wasn't very happy with the direction the band was taking at the time. He decided to leave when the rest of the members disagreed to include a cover version of “Black Sheep of the Family” in Stormbringer.
