I do actually like Chaosphere & that’s significantly longer than this, even without the pointless part of ‘Elastic’. I should give these guys another shot one day.

Don't listen to this anymore, but damn does it still groove hard at times.

What is pointless about Elastic?

What do you think about Nothing Demon? It's their best in my opinion.

The 2006 reissue of Nothing is easily their best and most influential. Kind of a landmark record for its time really.

I [2] that.

It's addicting like crazy too, best grooves in the business.

Why the reissue? Not sure how the remixing makes it more of a landmark

A landmark record for its time, especially in 2002, agreed.

Because it sounds a thousand times better. Production isn't nearly as important as songwriting obviously - but in this case....it fucking matters. 2006 >>> 2002.

I prefer the original tbh. I'm surprised someone could think one is drastically better than the other.

To each their own. 2004 I through 2008 Obzen personally is my favorite Meshuggah era both musically and production-wise.

Artificial drums and kinda characterless über-robotic re-recorded vocals on an already great and more organic sounding record is a bit of a no-no. The guitars are improved though, that’s about it. I’ve learned to appreciate the more C33 style production of the Nothing remix/reissue over the years to be fair.
