"I mean, I can't think of another band like AnCo, really, so if that doesn't make a band weird in a sense, then I don't know what does."
I wouldn't consider "unique" and "weird" to be synonyms at all, I will admit this album is unique though... maybe more in an art rock sense though

ALA - pussies are more 'Subtle Aromas & Squidgy Depths'
Damn, I hope AnCo use that as their next album title

Also cause you randomly join threads and are a dick to me so i thought i'd give you some genuine advice and that is that even if a conversation is going well, it's not going to end till you either provide a valid reason for not liking it or like it, and i don't think it's really going to go anywhere if you try to make reasons that people can just refute with ease.
Idk, I guess i just used to talk like this all the time and it's a bit annoying seeing a dog playing with it's tail and never catching it

this is AnCo's most normal album
Surely MPP is more normal than this?

"I will 2.5 everything you love lol."
Make sure you only do so if you've actually heard the album and found it average like I had with this album :')

"ALA - pussies are more 'subtle aromas and squidgy depths'"
squidgy? is that an adjective for squidward?

Surely 'weirdness' is subjective, no? You can't justify statements like 'this isn't weird' when it is to many people. You can say 'I'm disappointed, other people said they found this weird, this isn't weird for me', which is fine. But yeah, as people have said you fall into error if you complain that their most accessible project, and the one not at all going for as experimental as it gets, isn't weird enough for you; its not meant to be

'MPP', 'Fall Be Kind' and 'Sung Tongs' are all more 'normal' than this one to my ears but 'Centipede Hz', 'Feels', 'Spirit They're Gone' and especially 'Here Comes the Indian' are most certainly a degree stranger than this.

never liked unsolved mysteries or especially chores that much, nor considered this album quite top shelf AC

'Unsolved Mysteries' is top 5 here, the problem with 'Chores' is if you're in the mood to listen to one half of the song then by definition you're probably in less of a mood to hear the other half because they're polar opposites.

@Asleep, I would say weirdness is more relative than it is subjective.

"Top 5"
The album only has 9 tracks lol, that means you're saying it might not even be in the upper half of the album

I really like how Chores devolves into the outro section.

I do like the ending of Chores but idk the first half is sort of a pain to get through. Plus "daily routine" does the bifurcated structure in a similar way and I like that song better heh

The fact that Boney has this 4'd makes me think it's not even close to experimental ;)

@Boney fair point actually, I accidentally often use two words synonymously
