The new dredg? Huh, I'd see it more in the old ones

The weird thing is I can listen to Elliott Smith on a bright summer day and not really be all that affected moodwise

I quite like the records that fuck my brain. Like Kid A. And TDAG reminds me of a kinda dark point in my life not so long back where I was getting absolutely shit-faced every night just to try and escape the things I should have been doing. I have huge shivers when I hear Sowing Season (despite it being AWESOME) simply because I remember walking on my own down a road with it on, fairly drunk, and screaming the chorus when it came in. It was a good feeling, but now... it kinda reminds me of a place I don't wanna return to.

Same with Buckley

Although I've never properly listened to Elliot Smith

The Devil and God really is a depressing listen. I guess in terms of emotional drainage that the album gives me, its right up there with Dirt from AIC and Superunknown from Soundgarden.

Oh my god don't even get me started on Dirt.

DON'T EVER listen to Dirt while reading about and even google video'ing on-camera suicides

Devil And God was quite exhausting. As The Roots Undo is probably the second most, after TDS.

Although saying that, neither would be my 2nd favourite album properly.

going back to what I was saying before though, I will be giving this a few more listens. Could potentially see bringing this up.

Well, I do like albums that'll fuck my mind but throw me out the other end feeling better, like I've found something I was missing. Those are my favorite albums. Kid A is definitely one, as is ( ), and Catch For Us The Foxes and the list goes on and on. Albums that survive and end in pure darkness just make me come out feeling like a worse person.

can see this score improving if I get used loads of screamo at one time. don't think it'll be as good

as TDAGARIM though.

and I don't think Noro is so much about Brand New finishing for good as hating their back catalogue (for reasons I can't understand) and wanting to escape that especially.

Hasn't this already been covered?

TDAG probably has equal or more screaming in it. It's just far better done than the screaming in this.

One of the most disappointing albums of 2009. I'll have my review up for this by tomorrow morning at the latest.

It's above average imo. It isn't nearly as amazing as their last album but I still appreciate it.

Well, I knew it would be impossible to come anywhere near that album. That's one of the greatest albums ever.
