He did use the word "overtly". It's obviously spiritual, but it's not evangelical. It's not trying to convert people; it's simply about Aaron's relationship with God, as all of their albums have been. So it's not specifically Christian, as proven by the use of the word Allah and the quoting of the Koran, it's just very spiritual.

at the same time it IS specifically Christian. speaking about Jesus in Arabic doesn't make one a Christian Muslim

Well, I'm not saying I'm not listening to a christian record, because I like the fact that I am considering I believe alot of what Aaron does. My point is: the album is more about God in general and not really about religion. This is no Delirious? record.

Alright I'm somewhat beginning to understand your point but I don't see how you can detach singing about God with Christian imagery and not call it a religious record. I mean at one point he references the 10 commandments (the "disrespect your parents" line) which is expressly religious

This album is one man's interpretation of religious morality. God is a given.

Well, it is hard for someone who was raised to see God in a christian light to not describe him that way. I know I can't think of God without thinking of crosses and commandments and sheep, and Aaron is probably similar. He's just talking about God with what he knows.

The term "cafeteria Catholic" means to choose for yourself what about the Catholic faith you believe and what you don't. Aaron does this with a mixture of religions, he's not strictly a Christian, he's a worshipper.

Alright cool, I agree that Aaron's spirituality is pretty obvious, but the christian imagery makes it perfectly clear which faith he adheres to, which to me makes this more a religious record than just purely spiritual. But w/e good music is good music
