only just got into this guy recently, haven't given Collapse enough time to really form much of an opinion on it yet

Yeah, I'd say I like Collapse slightly more. This album has more "wow" moments, but Collapse is probably a bit more consistent and forward-thinking, in my opinion.

I'm nowhere near a bm expert as of yet, but this is definitely one of the most impressive albums I've heard out of the newer albums in my collection (which includes stuff like WitTR, Woe, Ash Borer, Cobalt, etc.)

I don't really like Cobalt or Woe, and WitTR hasn't been good since Two Hunters. Panopticon, Ash Borer, and Fell Voices are easily the best black metal acts to emerge out of the late 2000s, though.

yea I dig Fell Voices too
I really like the one album each I have from Cobalt and Woe, but again, I'm no expert. I basically agree with you on WitTR, but I thought CL was at least decent.

yeah, his music got boring after the first listen, although social disservices blew me away the first time i heard it.
|
| |
yeah I have zero interest in basically everything he did after Collapse
|
| |
Social Disservices also blew me away on first listen, and I stayed away
|

And I still have problems with the releases I think are good, but I'm pretty sure I've hashed that out enough on the Kentucky news article, heh.
