Honestly I think DSS, Uroboros and Arche are even nowadays. All have individual traits that make them so special, only thing that is certain for me is that DSS had the best Budokan show.

Yea they really are all their own beasts.
Been listening to Marrow a lot lately too haha
|
| |
Marrow is fun, but it wasn't really done justice until Tour 08 where they performed most of it and blew the studio versions away.
|
| |
I re-recording would be interesting I think
|
| |
They announced very recently that they're doing a tour consisting of Marrow in full, so that means there will be a full show of it on Blu Ray released at the end of 2017 or start of 2018. That's the closest you'll get to a re-recording of it.
|
| |
Oh wow that's pretty awesome. The band sounded amazing on the last DVD so seeing Marrow on that same level will be really cool.

I thought the Withering/Marrow era of Dir En Grey was interesting. That's around the time when I got into them so they're important albums to me. Can't wait to see that DVD of Marrow. Kyo's voice is a lot different than it was back then. I think when Marrow came out he was still recovering from surgery?

I also feel Withered and Marrow are their critical albums, simply because we wouldn't have got the perfect 3 that proceeded them.
|
| |
Yeah he was still recovering then I believe. Only thing I'm worried about with Marrow's Blu Ray is whether Kyo will bring the intensity that the Marrow material deserves with his wavering growls recently. Also regarding Withering, there is a high chance they'll be a Tour_of Blu Ray for that as well. They've done Tour Vulgar, DSS and Kisou this year which have been announced to released Blu Rays in March, and announced the dates for Uroboros' (modern day Ware omgggggggggg) and Marrow's so Tour_of for Macabre and/or Withering is at a high level of chance of happening. What a time to be a Dir fan ^_^

Where them rates at Calc?
|

@Evo: Imao yeah, I'm saving just for those Blu Rays
@necro: Rated the remaster, don't care about the original Uroboros.

Yeah, it'd be cool to actually have convos on the remastered version, cuz it has a review...

Guess I'll go rate the remaster. Didn't know it had a separate album here
|
| |
I've literally never heard of these guys but I guess people here like them?
|
| |
People here generally either love them or can't stand/don't care for them. Best album to check is Uroboros Remastered & Expanded first (the original has shit production).
|
| |
Ok I'll jam that in a bit m/
|
| |
Nice, one of my fav albums. Relistens are usually required since their stuff grows so much best it being sonically immediate but hopefully you'll have a blast. The Remaster is added separately here and is the active thread: http://www.sputnikmusic.com/review/53639/Dir-En-Grey-Uroboros-Remastered--Expanded/

I'm not finished yet but I don't know if I like this yet

About the reaction I expected.
