To me it sounds like it's the soundtrack to the chaotic first moments of the Universe's creation after the Big Bang, when it was just intense radiation / heat / explosive reactions etc. on unimaginable scales.

Incredible album. As I listen I like to imagine the frigid cold of entropy, humanity's fragile place in the universe, a small flickering light at the edge of the great enveloping darkness. Stumbling blindly, howling desperately into the wind in hope of some kind of meaning for it's fleeting existence.
