This album has grown off on me a lot... I get bored listening to just about anything on here now.
Used to love the first two songs, Like Callisto to a Star in Heaven and the title track to death.

I wouldnt call myself a hater seeing as how its a 4 but yeah there are hundreds of metal albums that are better then Shogun. Ill mention one for now.

Everyone keeps spouting nonsense about Dream Theater and Metallica influences... They're present and all, but on this one they're at least JUST influences. (I haven't really looked into it though, so some songs might be ripoffs once again)

It definitely has some great riffs and catchy hooks but I just don't feel it any more for some reason. Must be the sub-par harsh vocals.

This album is indeed trivium's best, and the title track is completely flawless, but heafy's vocals are just utter crap, even worse so when he roars. *Facepalm*.

better than a Metallica record. Trivium is better than Metallica, in my opinion. Trivium has some way faster riffs.
