dude if you think SATH needs to be faster and heavier, then you probably shouldn't be listening to post metal...js

i like isis, neurosis and rosetta. i did enjoy soth, it just had a lot more and longer mellow sections than metal sections.

That's the point, Minty.

this is definitely more soft and drawn out in places than SATH, so if you didn't like that about SATH then you would probably like this one less.

obviously marching to the heartbeats and and with her came the birds are soft and mellow. but as a whole this album seems more focused on being mellow and SATH is more focused on being heavy than this is.

you haven't seen them play this stuff live so you have no room to talk, it isn't as mellow as you'd like to think

"dude if you think SATH needs to be faster and heavier, then you probably shouldn't be listening to post metal...js"

hell yeah it needed to be heavier, that's a legitimate complaint if likes The Beyond and expected heavy post-metal.

I already said what I felt. SATH is great the way it was, but I expected heavier things too before it came out. then I saw them play the stuff live and won me over again.

and I don't think this is mellow overall, just relatively, as compared with SATH. and true, I have not seen them live, I'm just speaking from my frame of reference here. SATH seems more aggressive to me than this.

All I was saying with the heaviness comment was that there is a lot more to post metal than heaviness. I know The Beyond is heavier than SATH. just seems like if someone enjoys SATH significantly less than they would if it was "heavier" then pm might not be what they're looking for musically.

bullshit there's a lot of post-metal just as heavy as The Beyond. they don't "have to" like SATH
