Top 5 Beatles for me:

2) Magical Mystery Tour
3) Please Please Me
4) Abbey Road
5) Revolver

Album Rating: 5.0
I've checked all Beatles albums many times, and I'd say all pre-Rubber Soul albums are pretty much 2.5-3 territory for me, they're just typical rock n roll.

They very well are but damn does Please Please Me hit the spot on sooo many levels. The passion and the sheer energy of the pseudo-live atmosphere is just infectious and the flagrant recording/production fuck-ups only adds to its charm even more. And dammit does I Saw Her Standing There and Twist and Shout make me want to dance like a motherfucker
Oh hey Ars, awesome dig! Choose Your Weapon is my fav album of their's but the two albums they released are both identical in quality

it's impossible to rate the beatles' albums after 1965. with the exception of YS and, maybe, LIB (although it's an easy 4-4.5, imo), the RS-AR stretch is a bunch of clear 5's.

Actually George Harrison is notable for being one of the first artists to do the whole "wall of sound" thing so maybe

Harrison practically innovated Shoegaze and Acid Rock.
