You shouldn't have started with deftones but this might be a good place to start, its most people's favorite. I was actually a little underwhelmed when I heard it but eventually I came around, its a damn good record. If they don't appeal to you now they might grow on you, they did for me at least.

Quick question, Sputnik: is White Pony one of those albums that takes more than one listen to get into? I gave the album a try a little while ago, and I wasn't nearly as hooked as I hoped I would be - "Passenger" was really the only song that succeeded in that goal.

yes, I would say it takes a few listens to really get it, maybe more if you're not already a fan of Deftones.. Passenger's great, but I think Digital Bath, Rx Queen, Knife Prty and Change are better songs even. Maybe Feiticeira too..

Street Carp has one of the best choruses on the album imo. Feitceira does nothing for me unfortunately. I know that Back to School wasn't intended for the album but the weak opening one-two punch hurts the album.

I love everything about Feitceira. It's the only song on the album that harks back to Around the Fur imo.

Bodom: I still think Street Carp is a great track, I just see it as the weakest on the album. Which isn't a huge fault, given the amazing quality of all the other tracks

I really like how Chino says a different address in each chorus, it just fits the lyrics really well. It's a small nuance but it's effective.
If Feitceira is most like Around the Fur i'm not sure how much i'd like that album, I recently got it but haven't listened yet.

Around the Fur is a very heavy album bodom, you would like it. Its got some classic Deftones tracks on it.
