I have Ghost Reveries and it's painfully boring. Will any other Opeth albums change my mind about them...?

Well, the reason I don't like Ghost Reveries is because the death metal parts aren't executed very well (imo) and it seems like the songs are repetitive for the sake of being long (and they're all WAY TOO LONG). The only thing "interesting" about it is the switching between acoustic and death metal, which actually isn't very interesting at all considering the fact that the death metal and the acoustic parts aren't very well executed compared to many other bands (that don't mash them together).
The idea is cool, I just think Ghost Reveries is a low-quality album on many levels. If their others are higher quality, I'll look into them.

most people like the other albums more than GR, but GR is very good too IMO. i don't find it long for the sake of long (except for the grand conjuration). The long songs have plenty of different sections that progresses well into one and other.

Ghost Reveries is painfully underrated, in my opinion. For one thing, it contains Ghost of Perdition as previously stated. Best Opeth song, hands down. Second of all, there's really know weak point that I can find other than the length of The Grand Conjuration, which is pretty much made up for by its sheer evilness.

The Grandd Conjuration is not overlong, not at all. It's a great track. GR is a bit overrated though. I'd say it's the fifth best Opeth album, better than Deliverance, Damnation, and Orchid (which I feel is underrated actually, the production kinda ruined it a bit)

I've only heard the first 3 songs from damnation and thats plenty enough for me. I'd probably get bored listening to the whole album.
