I'm trying my hand at a Black metal song so I have been listening to this for ideas on how to approach the genre (cause I've never done BM before)
I admire these guys for being able to scream like that, I've been practicing screaming for weeks and gotten nowhere, not to mention the fact that getting a rhythm down is literally frying my brain. The way Varg is able to compose this shit... man.
I've always considered this album to be legendary, but now I think I have truly realized just how amazing it really is.

I feel like so hard. I was recently watching someone do some riffs off of this, and wtf are they genius. I feel like b/c this is his rawest and most primal compositionally its brilliance is often overlooked.
