I think his vocals on each release has suited that release well.

you sound like you're not sure. are you sure?
I agree bizzles, I think that's what makes Clarke a good vocalist - he uses the vocal style the is appropriate for that record quite well.
I do think overall his vocals aren't quite as good on Sunbather and Bermuda, but this doesn't mean they are bad, just that I think he's probably best suited to the type of vocals he used on Roads

haha i was joking anyway man, i knew you were serious. it doesn't surprise me that others don't enjoy clarke's vocals - i think you could make a reasonable argument that they are the weakest part of deafheaven (which i'd disagree with), but if someone made it i could definitely see it from their side

the band seems like a pretty tight unit to me, especially on Sunbather. hard to pick out a weak link

Album Rating: 5.0
yeah i'd agree with that, sunbather is definitely their most cohesive record as far as sounding like a single unit working together

i'd say that there are definitely moments where gossard sticks out from the rest of the band (and not necessarily well)

i disagree in regards to Sunbather, i haven't heard the new album yet tho and it's been a while since i've heard Roads to Judah. i remember the vox being a little more evident tho, yes

does every black metal band just get compared to deafheaven now smh
|
| |
Album Rating: 5.0
well the original comparison was weakling's vox to burzum's, and then i mentioned deafheaven as an example of a band where the vox were criticized (imo) unfairly
so no, they don't
