Heaviest Matter in the Universe gets me more pumped than most things. Flying Whales is also way too epic for words. One of my favorite live shows, as well.

this was pretty boring from what I remember
Kind of the feeling I got from it. But, I don't know, maybe I just found some of it a little repetitive. I'll give it another spin at the weekend.

Gojira in general seem to write completely killer riffs. Every single track is awesome.

du du du duuu...bu bu bu buuu
I did not expect Unicorn at all the first time I listened to this CD. First three tracks were so brutal, especially Backbone. Still one of my favorite tracks they've ever done.

this band is cool, but so overrated and overexposed
|
| |
I don't think it's overrated. At least not in Denmark. Here, very few people know them.
They're mastodontic live, though. Heaviest Matter of the Universe!!
|
| |
here they are more popular than death
|
| |
Yeah. Nowadays, the Black Keys are more popular than Led Zeppelin, but obviously Zep is the best band, you know.
But I did not know they were that popular
|
| |
led zeppelin are MUCH more popular than the black keys.
|
| |
Yes. But not according to the hype.
I mean, Death is more popular than Gojira. Gojira is just more hyped atm.
Fx. if I put "Gold on the Ceiling" on at a party, 90% of the people would get excited. If I put on "Good Times Bad Times", not nearly as many would.

in this day and age i wouldn't say any extreme metal bands are overexposed. Overrated amongst a certain group of people, sure thats possible, but when I hear "I Don't Care" every time the radio is on, in nearly every movie trailer, on tv shows, in bars/clubs, and never hear a metal song once in those same places, I wouldn't call any extreme metal overexposed.
