The religious references seem pretty obvious to me. They don't really start popping up in their music until Vheissu and they appear in spades from that album onward. The first two albums almost make his faith seem questionable with some of the lyrics.

It is really weird that Teppei makes wallets! I almost bought one from him because fuck yeah but then my not-girlfriend wound up buying me one randomly without telling me so no supporting Teppei :[ I'm pretty sure he is also a music producer

I know he has had references to religion in stuff before M/m, but I never really thought of them as 'christian' lyrics or worship or whatever you want to call it.

I dunno, I guess I thought he was looking at it more from maybe a 'historical' or 'story' point of view, kind of like what he does with Daedalus and Greek mythology.

That makes sense. Tracks like Like Moths to Flame were just retellings of biblical stories the same way the Messenger was

Yeah but he would always do it ambiguously enough so that non-Christian listeners could interpret them another way if they wanted to, then he was like GUESS WHAT FUCK YOU with that shitty album

His only goal was to make worship music that people could sing along to that also wasn't total garbage. That's understandable. His next record is going to be his more folky stuff, so I look forward to that. Of Crows and Crowns better be on it

Unfortunately he failed at the "not total garbage" part :-)

I don't think so. I don't think it's enjoyable, for the most part, but it's a fuck ton better than your usual worship shit

dog "A Subtle Dagger" is 100% anti-evolutionist.

the truth we've found in all we see/ points to design

our lust precedes/ our blasphemy

also all of the rest of the song. Also, Deadbolt pulls lyrics directly from the bible.

I used to listen to this album twice in a row all the time. I mean, Dustin tells you at the end "YOU'VE GOT TO PLAY IT AGAAAAAAAAAAAAIN!"
