i caught a prescreening of the movie in nyc, it's pretty kickass. It's not meant to be taken too seriously, but yea, it was awsome. The music really compliments the movie well, and you'll be able to relate the songs to the parts in the movie where they came in, so that's kinda cool. Go c the movie when it comes out!

I was also very concerned when I heard "POD" (which just isn't funny) and the trailer for the film (which is even less funny), but I caught a prescreening of the film and it was significantly better than I expected. The movie IS stupid, but its unabashedly so, and they manage to pull it off.

I'm looking forward picking up the album.

KleptoJesus, that is great to hear. That trailer was making me very nervous, but i just assumed it was because the trailer had to be G-rated.

By the way, the cd is great but not as good as the first. Then again, their first cd is one of the greatest albums ever made so i didn't except this to be better. Best song on this album is Beelzeboss i'd say.

Really, I've never saw Tenacious D as the kind of band that makes gut-busting hilarious songs. They're much more based around the concept of really well-written pop-rock songs riddled with quotable wry cult-heavy humour. And I think that's what makes the better in the long-run anways, as it gives them more replay value.

And the fact that the songs are just amazing.

This wont give away too much from the movie, will it? Because I'm dying to see it, and hear this.

Actually, some tracks give away a decent amount of the movie. And those were the tracks I liked more.

yes well this album is a bit different. shorter and based around the film it goes for the funny more often. in fact i gave it a 4 rather then 3.5 based on its comedic strengths. the songs are better because they are funny/humorous. otherwise they would be fairly ordinary. the whole thing works best when it all comes together IMO....This Message Edited On 11.15.06

The track listing for "Beezleboss" is spelt wrong. It should be spelt as stated before. Sorry if that pissed you off JXD.

On another note, the album is kinda awesome. I was slightly annoyed with Papagenue, as it got really really good before abruptly ending. It hurt me inside. Beezleboss kicks ass, as does Classico. The Metal is also quite good. Can't wait for this movie, it's going to be sooo good.

this album is signifigantly better than i thought it would be. since jack black's rise to popularity i was worried it would be garbage. it is very decent

Just got it today, amazing album. I have to admit, I enjoy their debut album more, but that's not to say I hate the Pick of Destiny. I listened to Classico almost 30 times, haha.

Yeah, Classico will do that to you, as well as Beezelboss(spelling?) and The Metal. Those are my 3 favorite songs from the album.
