Nice review, this is the album that got me into my fav band of all time, however I would disagree with one thing you said:
"This is the second release from Joshua Homme's famed travelling circus of musicians."
It wasn't just Homme's, Nick Oliveri used to be the other mainman and the only reason they are so many musicians on this album is because 1) their former permenant drummer left and they had 2 on this album (other than JH drumming on one track) and they wanted to bring a second guitar to their lineup but unfortunately many of thier friends that appear on this album could not be with them permenantly like Alan Johannes (eventually they found Troy who stars on 'Songs For the Deaf' and is now a permemnant member). Also Josh's 'travelling circus of musicians' could refer more to Desert Sessions as they are random friends and musicians that he picks to create an album in a week or so, anyways good review toherwise. I'm just being picky as I am a huge fan.
EDIT: You couldnt call them a travelling circus of musicians because on the first album it did only have like 3 main members and like one or two additional musicians doing tiny bits.

I'm a bigger fan, and I know everything that you just said.
While Nick as a "mainman", everybody knew it was and is Josh's band.

Good review, good album. I haven't heard the first one, but I like this a lot more than Songs for the Deaf.

they even said they dont like the term stoner rock

Great review! This is my favorite QOTSA album, songs for the deaf is good, with Dave Grohl, but man, this CD just really gives em their title of Stoner Rock!

Codiak your an idiot, you are a fat girl and eat plenty of twinkie's. This album might just get a classic rating.

codiak isnt on the site anymore, i dont think, his post count has been that way since May, and i never really liked Queens of the Stone Age, except for that one song, "songs for the deaf"
