Tool and Isis really aren't that much alike.....
Yeah, exactly. The comparison is a horrible one. If I hadn't heard Isis and someone told me they were like Tool, I'd get some Isis and wonder if I was listening to the right band because not even one bit of a Tool-esque sound is there.

You really are crapping these reviews out.
I like it.

I'm not a big fan of the name of the album. But it's definitely their most technically well-thought out album.
I'd say that the only similarities to Tool are that the drums are very trible like in Lateralus, and occasionally the guitar/bass tones sound like Tool. This Message Edited On 11.01.06

Haha, I love Tool, but aside from depth of music, I don't think the two bands are that much alike. I wasn't too optimistic for the show coming here though, since I'm in south FL and that's pretty far out of the way for most bands.

I cant wait for November 7th when this is released in Canada. Dulcinea is an amazing track and it sounds even better live (Isis with Tool on September 23rd at the Molson Amphitheatre in Toronto). What a fantastic review too. The review was intelligently and articulately written.

I have only spent about half the time I need to with this album but I'm a little underwhelmed by the changes as of now. We'll see how I feel in a bit.

I love this album dearly, I just think that Oceanic and Panopticon before it hold more emotional weight. That may change, Isis is music you grow with, as opposed to something you can digest in two sittings and be done with. We shall see.

My epic track by track of this album is in progress.
Nonetheless, the review was great.

I still need to buy this album. Maybe then I'll do a review.

This album is perfect in every way.

Hmm, I still prefer Panopticon over this one, and at the moment this album is dueling with Oceanic for the second place.

For some reason, on one listen I thought it annihilated Panopticon and everything else they've done. No idea why, but I love this album.

havent heard the other albums besides this. i love this album. it creates such a great atmosphere. i need to delve further into it though. i agree with the shot attention span thing, it took a few listens for me to get all the way through the album but its something i can listen to over and over

I feel the same. This is just a version of those two albums perfected down to every detail.

Get the hell out of here. You suck and you defile this review.
Burt, do you have those ISIS tabs yet?

No
I won't be able to do that for at least a month, my new album needs to be done by the end of this month so I'm strapped for time

They're the good version of Tool.
^^This
Seriously
Good review Burt

I downgraded my grade a little bit. It seems that Isis this time concentrated more on the rhythm section. The drummer now always does some sort of boem-pullupaa-boemé-pullupaa-boempa. I can't stand it.
