I love the game, but it's not really that hard, demi. You should be fine. Plus, (if I remember right) your characters lvl up even when they are in standby; they just don't get tech points.

I don't know if anyone here is familiar with the Overclocked Remix (OCRemix) site, but they recently released an album called "Chronology," which is an album made up of jazz reimaginings of several songs from this game.
I downloaded it last night, and have listened to it twice so far, it's pretty great. And it's pay what you want, so you can get it for free if you like.
