The Meshuggah guy in I, was doing 16th note double kicks with his feet in 4/4, and 4/4 time on in hi hat, and 6/8 time on his snare. Bear in mind this is at about 220 bpm.
THE intro to Unas Slayer of THE Gods is so good, because Candlemass wrote it.
!!! I just heard the Gothic Stone, that is weird.

God.
Is the title track a suite? Is this built like a prog album? If so, I'm buying. Sounds good too.
|

The last four tracks are great, they kind of mould together all in one song, but have different themes, whether that is a 'suite' or not I don't know
After actually listening to the whole album (and buying it) I'm going to give it a 5/5

Unas Feedeth on their Entrails"

Yes, it's 4 different tracks on the CD, but they're all part of the title song.

I just noticed that my album cover of this is different than that one, mine says nile on the front, other than that they're the same.

I find this album pretty good after a first listen. The egyptian sounds in the slow parts are nice. I would enjoy a bit more melody, but other than that it's good stuff.
I love the chorus in this song when the vocalist(s) are growling something...I can't tell what it is, not even with the lyric book but it sounds like "from". They say it quite a few times.
 ...
During the chorus, I actually think they are growling Kheftiu Asar Butchiu. Although there are several parts one could call a "chorus".
Is it true both Nile's guitarists sing? I saw their video and it seems like both are singing pretty much equally.

I think I might review this pretty soon. I think I like Annihilation better, but this still has some great stuff on it.
|
| |
This has more of a egptian sound to it than Annihilation. There are many great songs on it, but there are a couple of "ehh" ones.
This cd is one where it's fully worth buying the original cd.
The insert not only has the lyrics but on the other side.
It has explanations about the egption myhology. Which obviously is great help to understanding the lyrics and concept of the band, songs and album.

Owns their newest by a long shot. Such better and less boring instrumentation. Except they ripped off of the best Candlemass song for an intro in "Unas Slayer Of The Gods". That is not cool. NOT COOL.This Message Edited On 11.02.05

I feel just the opposite. To me, this gets boring after a while but the new stuff is very interesting.

There is a few amazing songs on the new one. But the rest I find is boring. It may take a while to get into, but whatever. The vocals are nuts on the new album, but this album has more range.

those song titles are just too hilarious

I can't get into much brutal death metal besides Cryptopsy, but you're review was pretty good.
