There's a couple good songs, but the whole CD just feels so choreographed and contrived. Collide is much, much better.

Not at all. I enjoyed both Cd's, but like I said, Collide was really generic, and John does way too many shouts of "ohhhh!" and "yeah!" that just get annoying.

For what it's worth, this album is more original sounding. At least, much more so than before.

So you apparently have never heard of Evanescence or Linkin Park or Nickelback? Because this album steals craploads of material from those bands. I'll agree that Collide isn't the epitomy of originality but there was so much raw energy going through that disc. This one just sounds like they're going through the motions.

I never said the album is original, I said it's more original than Collide.

All right, sorry for misquoting you, but I still disagree. Though Collide hardly reinvented the wheel, I felt like they carved out their own little niche in the genre with that album. This album sounds like so many other bands that I feel that they've lost that identity.

This is a good listen every now and then...at least it's more interesting than the rest of their discography.

I didn't think this album was very "christian" at least not compared to their other work. Not that is satanic, the subject just was about somethin else most of the time. It made them more generic.

It's not 'emo' but every song seemed to be about a suicidal depressed person which isn't necessarily bad (especially because it was about overcoming it) but it was EVERY song, the repetition was horrible, Skillet's worst, the only good song is "rebirthing"This Message Edited On 05.08.08

You might like Alien Youth, but this is the only Skillet album I find worthwhile.

Collide is much better then this, although I'm not a fan of either really. Alien Youth I keep just for memories otherwise this band kind of sucks.
