It's fine. Since albums tend to leak weeks in advance and the release is often staggered across the world, we're not too strict on which date you follow.

Plus, the band commented on the leak saying it's the same as the retail (though the retail contains DVD footage) and that they weren't against it. I'll find Jim Austin's comment if I have to.

Bwahahahaha 3 reviews in one day...since yours was featured, you win. :p
This one isn't as good as Buried In Oblivion, but it's still quite excellent. I agree with many of your points as well. This album doesn't have very memorable moments, it's just consistent, aside from the end of the album. I find the end falters a bit. Also, aside from the fact that some of the guitar solos are shredding, a ton of them feature really similar patterns. Tim tends to use the neoclassical elements a bit too much in this release. Finally, the bass isn't nearly as awesomesauce as on BIO, and the bassdrums have quite possibly the most annoying triggers ever.
With all of the bad said, this is a terrific album. A great release for this year, and it probably contains the best album artwork EVER.

Yeah, the sample they used for the drums are like more annoying versions of triggers, which is lame, because sampling is the easiest way to avoid that. The bass is rarely heard mostly because the new bassist isn't as good, which is a shame, because I really enjoyed the basslines on BiO. And yeah, the NeoClassical shred influence is why I made the "School of Yngwie" statement.

It really is. He uses almost the EXACT SAME PATTERNS as he used in Black Sea Of Agony on a bunch of songs.
Their bassist was quite good live though (he actually filled in the missing rhythm guitar parts very nicely), and Tim's a really chill guy. He was happy to answer a few questions of mine.

If I was to get an Into Eternity album, should I get this, BIO or DOD?

Probably start with BiO, then get this. DoD is not as strong as these, and their self-titled..dont bother.

Personally, I'd recommend this before any of their other albums.

Either way, you can't go wrong with either.

OK, thanks guys, Ill look around for Buried in Oblivion or The Scattering of Ashes. I wasnt as impressed by what I heard off DOD anyway - although Cyber Messiah is great.

DOD is a bit lame, aside from certain choruses. Distant Pale Future comes to mind...
I like BIO better, but you really can't go wrong with either.

It's fine man. If you want to talk about a new band you found, or a band you really enjoy, try making a journal. You'll get more of a response there :thumb:

Nah, I'd pretty much call him a fag in a journal too.

Anytime man. Just go to your profile page, and make a journal. Tell us bout your musical likes and stuff, and then you can throw a small burb on this Martyr band you seem to love so much.
I personally think this is better than BIO...'Severe Emotional Distress' just owns hard.
