The production on this is wonderful (thanks Quincy Jones!) This is a pop masterpiece.

good CD, decent review. I personally think you could have put more effort into it and review all the songs even if they aren't that great.
Also, Beat it being my favorite Michael Jackson song, i think Eddie Van Halen did a great job on guitar and the guitar is most of the reason why i like the song.

I love "Thriller". The clip is pretty funny too.

Personally, I think Billie Jean is the greatest pop song ever written. Seperate each insturment out one at a time and each one is playing a hook good enough to drive a hit song on its own. Twelve people worked on making that track alone. Amazing.
And don't forget the resulting slew of genius music videos.
Too bad the man went crazy.

Beat It and the title track rule. One of the opening bands at a show I went to recently covered Beat It and it was the only good part of their set.

Darkness falls across the land
The midnite hour is close at hand
Creatures crawl in search of blood
To terrorize yawls neighbourhood
And whosoever shall be found
Without the soul for getting down
Must stand and face the hounds of hell
And rot inside a corpses shell
The foulest stench is in the air
The funk of forty thousand years
And grizzy ghouls from every tomb
Are closing in to seal your doom
And though you fight to stay alive
Your body starts to shiver
For no mere mortal can resist
The evil of the thriller

Touche, man. I'm not sure what I was thinking when I typed the soundoff up but it just a temporary slip. Can't blame me, really, since their first two initials are the same.

This review while positive really doesn't give justice to how great Thriller is musically. The fact that you didn't mention one of it's best songs - Wanna be startin something, a brilliantly funky song, tells me you have issues with Jackson which prevents you from writing the glowing review it deserves.
Best tracks in my opinion are Billie Jean, Beat it, Wanna be startin something and Human nature - a great haunting ballad.
This really is one of the greatest pop and crossover albums ever and a cultural milestone. This album easily deserves a 5 and at least a 4.5.
So I suggest for anyone who hasn't listened to it, if you decide to, do it with no predjudices of Michael Jackson. You're really missing out if you don't listen to this.
edit, Thanks.Just discovered this site, it's very good.
